The Who are Australians? workbook provides material that links to both the Western Australian Curriculum Framework and the Australian Curriculum.
Curriculum Framework
The unit of work within the Who are Australians? workbook focuses strongly upon overarching outcome eight: Students understand their cultural, geographic and historical contexts and have the knowledge, skills and values necessary for active participation in life in Australia.
The use of inquiry-based learning facilitates the development of skills as indicated in overarching outcome three: Students recognise when and what information is needed, locate and obtain it from a range of sources and evaluate, use and share it with others.

National Curriculum
Three key cultural groups are identified in the workbook; Indigenous Australians; European Australians; and Asian Australians.
Indigenous Australians and Asian Australians are identified based on the cross-curriculum priorities of the Australian Curriculum:
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures
• Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia
European Australians are identified due to the Year 4 History curriculum placing an emphasis on the colonisation of Australia.
